Data processed during your visit

Vercel may process technical data required to deliver and secure the website, including the IP address, device and browser type, request date and technical logs. Yaniko Software does not use this data to create advertising profiles.

When you contact us

If you email us, we process your address, message content and any information you choose to provide so we can respond. The legal basis is taking steps before entering into a contract or our legitimate interest in responding to requests and providing support. Messages are kept as long as necessary for follow-up, then deleted or archived where required by law.

Purchases and payments

Purchases of FilePilot AI and Massicot are handled by Lemon Squeezy, acting as Merchant of Record. At checkout, Lemon Squeezy processes the information required for the order, invoicing, payment, fraud prevention and license delivery. Yaniko Software receives the order information needed to supply the software and provide support, but does not receive your full payment card details.

Recipients and transfers

Data is accessible only to Yaniko Software and to the providers needed to run the website, email and purchases, notably Lemon Squeezy, and to Google Ireland Limited if you accept ad measurement. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area using the safeguards provided by the GDPR.

Cookies

Without your consent, no Google tag is loaded and no advertising cookie is set.

If you accept ad measurement, the site loads the Google Ads tag. It sets cookies, including _gcl_au and _gcl_aw, kept for up to 90 days, which show whether a visit from a Google ad leads to a trial download or a purchase. Google receives the ad click identifier, the page viewed, your IP address and your browser information, and, for a purchase, its amount and order number. Your name and email address are never sent to Google, and this data is not used to personalize ads.

The legal basis is your consent. Your choice is kept in your browser for six months, after which you are asked again. You can change it at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of the page; withdrawing removes this site’s Google Ads cookies. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.

FilePilot AI

FilePilot AI runs locally on your Mac. Selected folders, document content, analyses and search results are not sent to Yaniko Software. The app requires no account and currently includes neither telemetry nor any remote artificial intelligence service.

Massicot

PDFs and conversions are processed on your Mac. The start of the 14-day trial, the license key and its activation identifier are stored in the macOS keychain. Activation, verification and deactivation send Lemon Squeezy the key and a random identifier for the installation, without the contents of your documents. A validated license remains usable offline for 30 days. Massicot only saves to your Mac’s local storage: iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and network volumes are refused.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you may request access to, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data and object to certain processing. Write to privacy@yaniko-software.com. You may also lodge a complaint with theBelgian Data Protection Authority in Belgium.
